Mobile Shredding: How Does It Work?
It is quite simple. You call us, and within 24 hours we will be at your business to begin destroying your confidential documents. We start by delivering a specially designed lockable bin or console to be kept at your office. This is where you will place all of your documents for confidential shredding. We have 240-litre shredding bins and lockable consoles with heavy duty bags. You’ll usually put the documents that need to be shredded into the bag or bin through a 220 mm x 20 mm slot, but your nominated Document Security Manager will have a spare key in case you need to add bulk items. It is not necessary to remove any staples or other office supplies; we shred it all, and we recycle everything after we shred it.
An operator from Shred On Site will drive our shredding truck to your place of business on a day of your choice. Because we specialise in mobile shredding, all of your documents will be shredded on site in this state-of-the-art vehicle. We take the bin from your office, place it into a retractable tunnel to make sure no documents are lost while being loaded onto our truck, and then feed the documents into a ST-15H shredder. Your office’s shredder is no match for this machine—it has exceptional strength and can shred up to 2,200 kg of paper each hour. The cast aluminium shredder has high strength alloy shafts, hub knives, cast-in cleaning fingers and a bridgeless vibrating feeding hopper. It really is cool and high tech, and it will make short work of any bits of plastic and metal that are mixed in with your documents.
You can watch the operator shred all of your documents on CCTV. After shredding is complete, you will be issued a Certificate of Destruction for your records. Then, the shredded paper will be taken to a recycling plant, where it will be recycled back into office paper or used to create low-grade paper products.
