Community Shred Day

Community Shred Day

This year, we will not be hosting our annual Community Shred Day.

Over nearly 10 years, we raised $14,500 for the Elwood Life Saving Club and shredded documents for hundreds of attendees. In that time, we also recycled over 26 tonnes of shredded documents, which were transformed into new products like pizza boxes and egg cartons.

We are proud of the positive impact these events had on both the community and the environment.

A huge thanks to Community Bank Elwood, City of Port Phillip Seniors Festival and Victorian Seniors Festival for their ongoing supporting of these events. Thanks also to Chisholm & Gamon Property for promoting the fundraiser with signage around the Elwood area.

We are grateful for the community’s enormous show of support for the Elwood Life Saving Club and the lifesaving services it provides.

To see how the Community Shred Day works, see news coverage on Channel 10, SBS, ABC and 7.

The annual Community Shred Days over the years have raised over $14,500 for Elwood Life Saving Club and over 26 tonnes of paper has been shredded and recycled! All the Community Shred Days have provided an opportunity for the community to bring their confidential documents to be shredded as they can watch it being done on the CCTV truck monitor. They brought unwanted bills, bank statements, old tax returns and other personal information. All shredded paper is then 100% recycled.
