FREE Community Shred Day
A Community Shred Day provides the opportunity to declutter and protect yourself against identity theft in a safe and secure way. Identity crime costs Australians more than $2.2 – $2.6 billion a year. This year alone, 5,500 Australians have become victims of identity theft.
5th Annual Community Shred On Site Day a huge success!
On Saturday 20th October 2018 as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival and City of Port Phillip Seniors Festival we hosted our 5th annual Community Shred On Site Day.
2018 was a huge success. Despite heavy rain we still had a great turnout with over 200 groups. People came from as far and wide as Sunbury, Eltham, Blackburn, Vermont, Boronia and of course our local community.
We had over 200 groups of attendees with a whopping five tonnes of confidential documents were shredded on site. It provided an opportunity for the community to bring their confidential documents to be shredded and to watch it being done on the CCTV truck monitor. They brought unwanted bills, bank statements, old tax returns and other personal information. All shredded paper is then 100% recycled. We raised $2563.90 in donations for Elwood Life Saving Club.
