A lot of us have them: small paper shredders gathering dust in the corner of a bedroom or home office. These small, personal shredders are fine for one or two pieces of paper, but when you have piles of personal documents to get rid of, they just don’t cut it.

Your files may contain piles of confidential documents that you no longer need for your tax history or personal records. Now, you can get rid of these documents in the easiest and safest way possible: bring them to our free shredding event.

When, Where and Why

Shred On Site will be bringing our mobile shredding vehicle to the Shred On Site Day at Elwood Primary School Community Market on Saturday, 6 December. The Shred On Site Day, which is sponsored the Elwood Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank, will have a gold coin donation, and all proceeds will benefit the Elwood Primary School.

Why have a Shred On Site Day? On-site paper destruction is the safest way to dispose of your confidential documents. If you use our confidential document disposal service, you can be sure that your documents will be thoroughly destroyed and then recycled promptly, so you never have to worry about identity theft—or adding rubbish to landfill.

The goal of this event is not only to shred your documents, but also to raise awareness in the community about the threat of identity theft and how to protect yourself and your family. We will use the same state-of-the art equipment we use for our many business customers at the Shred On Site Day; people in the community will receive the same helpful, secure and efficient on-site shredding service that we provide for our commercial clients. Our shredding truck is fully equipped with the latest document destruction technology, and you can watch your confidential documents being shredded in front of you.

What to Bring

It is important to shred all of your confidential documents, especially bank statements, medical information, credit card bills and tax returns. Bring any and all documents you want to dispose of to the event. Please note, we cannot accept any of the following: wax coated paper, food waste, drink cartons, aluminium cans, drink containers, tissues, toilet paper, hand towels, cardboard or polystyrene.

You should try to reuse all stationery items but if you haven’t got time or the inclination, no problem, just leave the staples, bulldog clips and plastic sleeves to be shredded. The shredding equipment can even shred lever-arch files and binders.

For more information on our services, please browse the rest of our website. Then, clean out your file cabinets and home office and come to our Shred On Site days to rid yourself of any and all out-of-date confidential documents.

We want to do our part to make our communities safer places to live. Offering our services to the public and educating people on the dangers of identity theft is one way we can do that. We look forward to seeing you in December!
